Terms of Use
1. About AgriGeo and This Platform
AgriGeo Spaces NPC ("AgriGeo", "we", "us") is a non-profit company (registration number 2024/666888/08) whose purpose is to advance sustainable and productive agriculture among smallholder and commercial farmers in South Africa, by making data-driven insights, advisory support, and access to relevant skills development available to farmers who would not otherwise have access to them. By using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. What the Platform Does and Does Not Do
The platform collects on-farm data and provides tailored advisory recommendations, and identifies skills-development needs through a Needs Assessment process.
Training: AgriGeo is not itself an education or training provider. It does not design, deliver, assess, or certify any training, and holds no accreditation with QCTO, any SETA, or SAQA. AgriGeo's role is limited to identifying the need, making the referral, and sourcing or paying the funding for the course fee. Training is delivered by independent, accredited third parties (currently Mabatau Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as MSE Training) under their own accreditation.
Market access: a feature to help participating farmers list produce and connect with buyers is in development. Once live, AgriGeo's role is limited to facilitating that connection — it is not a party to any resulting sale unless and until confirmed otherwise.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
The platform is intended for farmers, farm workers, and partner organisations. You must be at least 18 years old to register (or have parental/guardian permission if otherwise), and must complete the platform's onboarding requirements to create a profile.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate and complete information in any assessments, surveys or forms, to use the platform lawfully, and to keep any account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
5. Data and Privacy
Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Policy. Please review both to understand how we handle your personal information. By agreeing to these Terms, you consent to our use of your data as described there.
6. Third-Party Services
Training referred through the platform is delivered by independent, accredited third parties — currently Mabatau Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as MSE Training — under their own accreditation. AgriGeo is not responsible for the delivery, quality, or outcomes of that training beyond its facilitation role of identifying the need, making the referral, and sourcing or paying the course fee.
7. No Guarantees
AgriGeo facilitates access to funding, training referrals, and (once live) buyer connections, but does not guarantee funding availability, training placement, or buyer matches.
8. Limitation of Liability
The platform and all information provided through it are offered "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, AgriGeo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
[This clause is placeholder, standard non-profit platform liability language and has not yet been reviewed by a legal adviser — it is not a substitute for legal advice and is subject to change following that review.]
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will post the revised terms on our website, and material changes will be communicated to users. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or the platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
